Sculptra
Categories: Creases/Laxity/Sagging / Dullness/Rough Skin/Scars / Fine Lines / Wrinkles
Sculptra works differently from traditional hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers which work to fill in lines, wrinkles, and folds. Sculptra helps regenerate the skin’s own natural collagen and elastin production, gradually restoring a more youthful looking appearance.
Before & After Photos
How does Sculptra work?
The poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA) within Sculptra helps form a framework underneath the skin that helps support and maintain the skin’s inner structure. After Sculptra is injected into the skin, it helps regenerate new collagen and elastin. Natural collagen and elastin help improve the skin structure and elasticity.
What type of results does Sculptra have?
When injected into the cheek area, 2 years after treatment: 88% of patients report improved skin tightness, 89% of patients agreed they had improved skin firmness, 95% had improved skin glow, and 86% had improved jawline contour.
Is this like Botox/Xeomin?
No, Hylaronic Acid Filler and Sculptra act in a totally different way from Botox/Xeomin. They fill in areas within the skin to reduce the depth of wrinkles, lines, and folds. The skin remains mobile and flexible, with all the same movement compared to prior to treatment.
What areas of my face can I get Sculptra?
Sculptra works in cheek wrinkles, smile lines, and marionette lines to help you restore your collagen and elastin.
What does the treatment feel like? How long does it take?
The injections are not painless, but they only take a few minutes. Topical numbing and ice packs are used before and after the treatment to alleviate discomfort and swelling, and to reduce chance of bruising.
When will I see results? How long do they last?
On average patients will have 2-3 treatment sessions over the course of a few months. Most patients see results as soon as one month, with sustained natural looking results for up to 2 years.
Is there downtime?
After your treatment, you can resume your day. There is minimal to no downtime. Should bruises occur, they can be covered up with makeup safely.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effects are swelling, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These side effects typically resolve on their own. If any of these side effects persist for more than 7 days, contact us immediately.
