Before & After Photos

What is a Hydrafacial?

The HydraFacial treatment removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities while simultaneously bathing the new skin with cleansing and moisturizing serums. Results are noticeable right away. The soothing treatment is completely non-invasive and generally non-irritating. As with most procedures, visible results from HydraFacial will vary from person to person.

Am I a good candidate for a HydraFacial?

The HydraFacial treatment is designed for all skin types. Even the most sensitive skin easily tolerates the HydraFacial treatment. The HydraFacial addresses many skincare needs including: even tone and vibrance, skin texture, congested skin or enlarged pores, elasticity and firmness.

How is this a unique treatment at Tribeca Skin Center?

We perform the highest level of the treatment, a Platinum HydraFacial, which always includes: Lymphatic massage, Cleansing, Exfoliation, Extraction, Customized Boost, LED Light therapy, and Hydration and Antioxidant Protection. The Boost portion addresses specific skin issues: pigmentation or brown spots (where peels could otherwise be used), fine lines (where Botox or filler could be used), collagen rebuilding, and overall radiance.

Who performs the HydraFacial?

Rowena Woo has been performing facials since Tribeca Skin Center opened in 2001. Her facials were cited in New York Press as one of the reasons Dr. Parikh was voted New York City’s Best Dermatologist. Rowena was also featured in the New York Times Style section as an expert on facials. If you are on any prescription medication, rest assured that Rowena is performing the facial in consultation with your doctor. Many clients report seeing visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone after just one treatment.

How often should I have a Hydrafacial?

The smooth results and hydration can last for weeks. One treatment per month for four months is recommended for improving the appearance of rough texture, dry patches, and oily and congested skin. Continued HydraFacial treatments restore skin health; maintenance treatments are recommended.

Is it good for any type of skin?

This facial is recommended for all skin types (dry, oily, combination, sensitive), especially those who want to hold off on chemical peels or laser during summer, or are avoiding other treatments.

How long is the treatment?

The treatment takes about 30-40 minutes.

What does it feel like?

A HydraFacial is relaxing and enjoyable. The lymphatic massage may clear your sinuses if you are experiencing congestion. The patented roller-flex technology gently sucks out impurities, which you can actually see afterwards!

What is the downtime?

Although there is no downtime, your skin may experience temporary irritation, tightness, or redness. These are all normal reactions that typically resolve within hours depending on skin sensitivity.

What do I need to know before my first treatment?

Avoid direct sun exposure immediately after treatment, and use a minimum of SPF 40 sunscreen. Aggressive exfoliation, waxing and products containing acids, products like Retin-A, should be avoided in the treatment area two weeks pre- and post-treatment.
